in 0.71 when i asked the NPC for items he/she gave me something but it was not on the floor or in my inventory.
I had an NPC give me an inhaler, but I got a cheap lighter instead.
Yeah NPC giving/training are kinda broken right now (as many NPC things are).
don’t bother training/recruiting NPCs for now; just kill and loot.
