Any plans to include vampires?
See: Orlak Nightstalker
Also jacqueshammers, and using any tool on yourself, and closing a door on yourself, and trying to open a window from the outside.
Cerberus
A dark hound with three heads , it’s ragged black coat struggles to hide it dark red skin, the dog appears to have no eyes.
*Blind
*Can’t smell
*Very good hearing
*Very fast attack (three heads)
*Very fast
Loki
A cackling jester, his eyes flicker as he taunts you, you feel very uneasy in his presence.
- Can cause temporary insanity (hallucinations)
*Makes a lot of noise
*Doesn’t attack you just follows you like the dogs do and gives negative passive effects
Phobos
A eerily statue of an old man, you feel overcome with dread when you look at the statue, you notice the statue does not cast a shadow.
*Can only move when the player can’t see it
*Extremely fast
*Extremely strong
*Can’t be damaged when in statue form
edit
I see the moving statue has already been suggested
Coil:
A dark shape lurking in shallow waters.
It is hard to spot, and will grab unsuspecting players and pull them into deep water in an attempt to drown them. Found on river banks and any deep water bordered by shallow water.
Enslaver:
Will attack any nearby wildlife or Zs. If it kills something, it will reanimate it instantly, with higher speed and stats.
Basically don’t let it kill steal, or you’ll be in for a Brute-level encounter, at least.
not really new monster idea but kind of goes with more melee (or rather more weapons in general)
various mobs have varying resistances/immunities.
eg: while ordinary post-human Zombies would be easy to maul by everything, more mutated/advanced could be immune to steel weapons (forcing usage of wood board), large stone like creatures would be impossible to defeat using firearms or slashing weapons, while vulnerable to sledgehammers or explosives, security bots that could withstand horrid amounts of damage but could be temporary disabled (and then permanently disabled with electronics skill) with well placed taser shot, or strike with shocker blade, etc.
also new monster idea
Hungry Building
Building size mimic that imitates shop full of loot or food to lure potential prey. Once victim is inside, all means of way outside are suddenly closed off, and interior first turns to light acid (ie:interior turns to ‘acid rain’) to begin dissolving unlucky scavenger. After a while acid levels rises gradually increasing dissolving speed (like whole interior is pool of acid). Once victim dies, Hungry Building rearranges itself and probably change location, to wait for another victim. Some hard items (steel, glass) should resist acid and become part of the building’s loot, and to possibly warn next victim.
(there could be item, room, and mansion sized versions also :D)
Rogue bionics: A loose mass of wires and servos moving like a mechanical amoeba. Once implanted into someone, the body around them has either decomposed or been eaten away.
Going on the extended bestiary stuff going on in other threads, let’s have some fun. Somewhat rare and tricky enemies with hidden workarounds!
Malicious Mist
On humid or cloudy days, this vapor stalks you with evil intent. Will occasionally take solid form long enough to hurt you… or be hurt.
“Why is this moist cloud following me? What is this? Wh- AAAAH!” Forget the flashlight. What you need for this is FIRE! Don’t inhale (as in don’t let it be in the same sector as you) as you will more than likely become irradiated or suffer illness.
Spooky!
Man Beast
Even bears stay away from this limber mass of muscle and fur. Mutations have caused this human to transform into something taken right out of a nightmare. Beware of snarls and howls in the dark.
You’ll find these in groups of 2 or 3. Travel during the night and these guys will be stalking you. Waiting. Oooooo. You won’t even see these stealthy creatures coming if your perception’s too low. Don’t let your flashlight run out of juice or they’ll be at you in seconds. Drop some meat and they might just give up the chase. These guys take what they can get.
Creepy!
And so, back to our regular programming.
Livid
What else would you call a lizard man who shrieks and hisses at the very sight of you? They may not be vampires but they’ll sure go for a bite on your neck. They’ll even latch on to you after they pounce so keep your distance! Don’t let them pin you or you’re in for some bad news.
Another angry mutant. They stay in packs of 3-5 and prefer their meals hot and raw. A living human will always suffice. Jump, grab, bite. So stay out of their jumping distance. Found in warm, open areas.
The first monster suggestion from this thread has made it into mainline.
I hope you all enjoy experiencing it as much as I enjoyed making it! It can be found in cities, and if you know what it is already, please don’t spoil it for the others.
