After gaining a surge of interest in rls i went to Roguebasin (that was the name of the main roguelike wiki no?). It told me that i should probably try coffeebreak roguelikes to learn the basics. After a while i tackled harder rls, and with all the sudden zombie thing of that age I found myself looking for zombie roguelikes. I found cataclysm, but I just could not understand what the hell was happening when I saw the preview pic, as the GUI was insanely tiny, and the stats occupied more than half the window. So I bounced off without even playing and went to Rogue Survivor, which damn, I loved so much. I was a kid and it even scared me sometimes, like in the hospital. When I got bored of it I was a lot better at roguelikes and tackled Cataclysm. I thought DDA was only a really little mod until I saw the original game had no more development, and somehow I heard of DDA again. After playing it I was amazed with its new buildings and things, and everything began.
Joined the forums some time later, drawn in by Draw Your Cataclysms, where I’d make my first post.
All of it, worth it. I still can’t be amazed at thinking how much it evolved since I first saw it. Like, damn.
Edit: fixed misspellings. Phone sucks.
