Draw Your Cataclysms

Very cool drawing Inquisitor.
I’m also checking stuff about in this thread, I found a drawing I did a few months back about my catman char when I was playing 0.9. If I haven’t posted it then expect an epic drawing soo :3
I’m pretty sure your thinking of Chlorine triflouride, ClF[sub]3[/sub]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorine_trifluoride

I’m not sure it’s actually an acid, but it is extremely nasty. That stuff burns sand and makes water explode!
Ugh THANK YOU I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THAT FOR A GOOD WHILE NOW. I was definitely looking up corrosive items, which include acids… this explains why attempted searches to find it again never panned out.

Either way spitter zombies couldn’t begin to contain that shit for using it as spit-fuel, but damn if it wouldn’t do the job dissolving everything instantly.

Here’s an old ass character I made when I was still playing 0.9

That’s a graboid he’s sitting on too.

He sits there like a sir

Your drawings are realy good in terms of proportions.

How much practice did that take?

*edit:

Just a lil critique . Its odd tat the katana doesn t burry even a bit into the ground. Its like he s holding it just above ground… which looks odd.

OMG he’s epic.

Friggin epic drawing m80, keep it up.

y’know, even sharp bladed weapons need to be pushed in the ground. they dont naturally spread the soil apart.

Meh… I’m average at male proportions but you should really see when I draw a woman, the faces look fine but the bodies look horrible, they’re either oversexualised or look like someone with male proportions, it never ends in something good
And as for the drawing I dunno how long it took. I found this inside a drawer that I was fumbling over and decided to post here after I patched up some loose ends and after a little bit of shading and inking.

EDIT: didn’t really think about that when I was making the nodachi, but I generally feel that blades should not be buried on the ground, even if it looks badass, it just ruins the tip of the weapon and adds soil exposure. So I guess it works?

I know what iam talking about because i have a katana.
If you rest your hand on the hilt like that it will happen as i said.
It will burry in the ground noticably. Not A lot but easily seeable.

Now i am realy curious as to how you would draw a femal char .

So your saying your char was holding the weapon aboveground on purpose? well okay his demeanor seems close enough to someone who would :stuck_out_tongue:

resting your hand on the hilt of any kind of sword will not magically make it burry into the ground. maybe a milimeter or two will dig a bit but not much more, unless your arms weight 20kg each.

I know what I’m talking about because I did some construction work.

So your argument is that if i put it on ground made of soil it will not burry deep enough for the eye to notice?
The ground below looks like gras to me.
Which Sort of ground do you envsion that you are convinced that one wouldn t see a differens from putting a swords weight along with your arm on it?

*edit:

a millimeter would be pretty much unnoticable so i asume your talking about ground frozen over or dry clay.

Maybe the cat dude is like, slightly holding up the sword because he doesn’t want the blade to get dirty. Even if it will technically penetrate the ground by a few cm’s.

Yeah i guess cause dirty swords are for peasants

The hell you talking about, the soil doesnt look like it’s grassy at all. There’s a few grass plants here and there but it looks like the soil is pretty fucking dry to me.
And no, I’m not talking about frozen ground or dry clay. As I mentioned, I’ve seen soil that is very fucking hard to dig even with a pickaxe, so resting the tip of your blade on the ground is not gonna plant it in the dirt.

To dig a blade with little weight (such as a katana) in the ground by a few cms, you have two ways:

  • jam it the fuck in the ground
    or
  • hold your whole weight on the blade
considering no sword appreciates being bended (which happens by doing both of the aforementioned actions), I doubt any sane individual would do his possible to stick his sword in the ground.

So your talking about harder ground then me? Just as i thought.
Normal dried soil here isn t hard enough to effect the blade like you said .
Your so convinced about this maybe you worked with other soil then i did? I am not native to america and i do not know which sort of ground to expect in new england.
But one thing is for sure: Normal ground here dry or not will not have that effect on a bladed weapon. It burries in enmough that you ll see it well. I used to do this a lot when i was still playing arround with that blade of mine.

As for dirt and swords: meh. Live in the right part of Canada and the ground is literally bedrock.

That aside, an overly simple start to drawing lady character proportions is to simply think of the shoulders and hips in relation to one another. For males, the shoulders tend to be broad, the hips narrow. For females, the reverse typically holds true. Drawing the muscles more softly (particularly the arms and neck) tends to get the point across pretty well too, without resorting to over-obvious boobs and butt.

Now i want a drawing of a katana falling victim to canadian soil xD

I hate when someone says TL;DR, but… TL;DR. Too tired to read. You people are talking ng about drawing proportions, katanas or Canada?

We are talking about how cool dinos drawing looks. How well he does male proportions and how hard canadian soil can be.

Sprinkled in are some words of wisdom from Pthalocy on how to draw females(I wonder where he got the practice :D)

I am biologically female. This and mirrors has aided me significantly. The real mystery is how I know how to draw men

Spoilers, worst mystery ever. I’ve read a lot of Andrew Loomis’s art guides and grew up watching animes.
