To be honest, LC, I’m probably the only person on the entire forum that doesn’t have a problem with something you’ve said.
You express yourself, colorfully, but when directed at individuals you do it in ways that are seen as offensive. As you’ve been told, directly, several times in this thread, which leads me to believe you’re incapable of processing such information. I don’t know. Is it a social custom, are you trying to be amusing, are you egocentric, are you socially inept? Regardless, I don’t believe you’re intentionally trying to be offensive. (You’re right there, why don’t you tell me.)
I wouldn’t say I’ve taken offense, but I am quite difficult to offend. Comments such as how this mod is an atomic clock to the broken watch of the vanilla build, though, make LazyCat very hard to take seriously. Between such ridiculous statements, the poems, and the insistence on things like sound or square fonts (which are personally taste issues) being the best ways to play, I’m left with very little desire to play test or encourage the project.
Normally I’d be happy to help with testing, feedback, and even help submitting things to to Git, but in this case I can’t bring myself to encourage someone. If my feedback was going to be taken reasonably, politely, and like an adult, I would. Part of my enjoyment of Cataclysm is the community. Hunting bugs and discussing how the game is evolving is great, but if the rest of the community acted like this, I wouldn’t even have an account on the forums.
Whenever I start a new game, I have the choice of the latest Git build, the latest release, or one of a few mods to play. I would prefer to spend my time playing the latest git build. While some of the additions are interesting to me, I can wait until they’re in the main build. If any of my problems with others are raised, it’s impossible to even raise personal preference without being compared to someone preferring silent movies, or other such over the top ego filled arguments.
tl;dr don’t want to encourage the ego.
