Block vs Parry

What is better to have and if there equal what are pros and cons

block is better afaik, but i never bothered to find out just how much better…

Block filters out damage. I’ve seen the message plenty of times with machete. Parry, I’m guessing, can dodge (divert) damage completely.

As far as I’m aware, parry is just a lesser form of block as far as the game is concerned.

Although I think this is outdated. It could honestly be the other way around.

Itd be nice if parry was more dex based and block more strength based. Maybe a bit gamey, but a nice way to flavor weapons.

Actually, I think that sounds like a great idea. If it makes sense in context at least and is accompanied by at least some vague explanation that is what is happening.

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense.

Parry, Block, and Shield are all different intensities of block techniques.

Parry USED to be inferior to block. I’d since swapped them around because parry was on weapons that logically would be better at deflecting attacks.

so it’s block<parry<shield?

Yep. Very few things have the shield technique, but if you use the medieval weapons mod, a few of the shields give it.
