Apparently you still can, yeah.

Note this also can also duplicate monsters and NPCs, as it ends up referencing both where the monsters were at the moment of death, AND where they were when the old save is loaded.

Thats a relic something something religious mombojombo stuff. Expect reality to not be our own and magic things that defy explanation soon. Espaecially if you touch things Indiana Jones would. Using experimental w/ experimental building levels on I accidentally took the basement stairs in a house upwards, fell off, went into the basement, got bitten by a smoker zombie (didn’t notice it was infected), and then died stumbling into my house-fortress.
Also, the town I spawned in had nothing interesting going on. Last world I generated before this one had three slime pits within a 50 tile radius, which spammed the countryside with slimes which basically killed everything.

Trying my hand at a Really Bad Day start as a tweaker for the first time to get back into playing CDDA, finally managed to get a character to survive past the five minute mark. Currently held up in a man cave basement after I killed the lone regular zombie inside by throwing my shirt at it and then lighting it on fire underneath. Amphetamine Withdrawal is coming down hard now but I’ve got a blanket from upstairs along with enough Boozeberry and Strawberry Suprise along with other assorted alcohol to drown out the pain and hopefully prevent a slow death by starvation/dehydration until it passes.

Really wishing I hadn’t taken Schizophrenia right about now though… Shit’s getting pretty spooky.

So I just realised people can become blind in this game.

Has any @ out there ever actually lost their sight?
Or is this just a blindfold thing?

I’m guessing theres only blindfolds and temporary blindness from being bitten. Any cool stories there?

generally it is a temporary blindness, but it has many causes. Any chemicals, or other stuff in the air by mobs, damage to your eyes, and some special attacks can all do it that I know if. The shock attack from copbots does t for a couple turns, which tends to be unhelpful when you are trying to lure a Feral hunter to fight with it, but they are both more interested in you. That survivor didn’t last long after he learned they don’t always pay most attention to proximity.

Huehuehue. You have a series of quests said NPC can give you to investigate other spooky things. It’s also good for finding that cultist cabin, which is nifty if you’re using arcana mod since cultist monsters are modded to potentially drop magic items or books.

I used a LMOE shelter start so I didn’t have a starting NPC.

There are craploads of NPCs but they’re generally giving me “kill my mum” quests. And then wandering off and getting killed.

Or being slaughtered by me because the idiots dared to wave a gun in my direction and act aggressive.
