What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Who’s idea was it to build 5 garages so close to each other?

GOD DAMMIT BILLY!!!

day 20, static spawn mode; today I encountered my first jabberwock, ever. And even lived to tell. Managed to get it down to severely injured before it even came into melee range, with my trusty silenced L39B. Nice gun. Sadly, I am down to 2 bullets now. Need to go find me some more 9mm.
The jabberwock managed to damage my leg for 9 points, while I needed 3 more shots to take it down. Good thing it didn’t down me. It was a nice fight.
It’s roar only attracted two grim howlers, which were easily dispatched with a self-bow. Survivor lives to see day 21!

Not if you’re driving a KV-4tress…

Mind you you’re not going very fast to begin with but hey, when you can yolo through hordes, other vehicles, buildings, and woods, speed isn’t really a high priority.

Since the whole ‘story mode’ “What’s happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?” posts seem to be all the rage with the youngsters today I guess the only logical solution is to do one myself.

Uhhh Ekarus Ryndren, Volunteer Mutant, low level security clearance. I know we’re only supposed to use these recorders for work related business but something’s definitely wrong and I get the feeling they’re gonna blame me… again.

It’s dark, it’s cold, my clothes reek of Alcohol, someone’s apparently tried to strangle me with a scarf and in failing that it appears they’ve thrown me in a storage room in the lab. It’s been… Who knows since the explosions outside and they locked down our lab. Doctor Sams from the… the uh… I think she works in first aid station on the fourth floor? Anyway, Doctor Sams came up to my level, said something about an accident downstairs or something… She had a bottle of that shit Tom from pharmaceuticals brews in his basement… …and that’s the last of what I remember.

It’s… …for fucks sake someone’s nicked my watch… …and my tablet… This just keeps getting better… Anyway, someone’s gone and stolen just about everything of value off of me as well as tried to strangle me with a scarf, for some reason they left my copy of To Serve Man.- For the love of fuck why did they take my ID? Who down here would need my ID… You know what, screw this. I’m hungry, I’m gonna go see if anyone left anything in the breakroom, I’m hungry. End of Entry.

Are Jabberwocks tough? I’ve only encountered one, back when they were still in Classic mode.
Killed it with a makeshift crowbar 50 feet outside my starting shelter. Never knew they were supposed to be hard to kill, I only lost about half my health.
Or did they use to be less-stronk?

Great, now I feel like doing it.

Man, I love those NPCs.

“Hey, can you help me?”

“Sure. I’ll need some equipment.”

“Okay. Here’s all the ammo to the gun I’m not giving you.”

"Your muscles spasm.
You’re knocked to the floor.
You struggle to stand."
again and again.
Also my Dex is reduced by 4, and no apparent effect showing. It kinda creeps me out

Ahahahaha that what you get for crossing broken windows to much :stuck_out_tongue:

no, it’s been happening for a long time now. Hope not

After raiding literally SEVEN labs at once non-stop, I was returning to my home. It was night, my car had had floodlights I used for illuminating instead of headlights broken so I had to use fucking night-vision goggles and drive carefully. And then it happened:
NPC appear just in front of my car on speed. And…
Shift-C
"Hey there, survivor. Let’s trade items. I give you 100 bucks for this thermal balaclava and this ammo. Sure. Hey, why don’t we travel together? Why? 'Cos I can keep u safe. (YANDERENESS INTENSIFIES) Sure!"
6 second later…
Oh, sorry. I thought you could dodge it. Teehee~ (Yanderegire)
'Cos I hate fucking NPCs!

Infected Hitchiker start. Starting house i find a RM228 short shotgun with 40 20x66mm buckshot rounds, woah.
No less than twenty minutes later in that same location, randomly:
Your torso wound begins to feel better.
I bet the rng is preparing to shit on me, imminently.

And a tank drone riding a flaming eye in 3… 2… 1…

I was having a pretty good run - I’d cracked open a couple of bank vaults/basement safes, and found a heavy power armor to match the heavy helmet back at my base. I then went into another house basement and saw a safe among the junk. “Score,” I thought. I walked a few step in, when…

“A piercing beam of light bursts forth!”

Somewhere to the southwest, there was apparently a floating eye. However, apparently when you’re underground, the ceiling doesn’t fall on you, so I thought I’d just run to the safe, crack it, and get out. One small problem with that plan: The collapsing rock walls had left me quite deaf. You can’t crack safes while deaf. And as long as the eye was back there wrecking things, I would stay deafened.

For once, I decided not to push my luck, and “NOPE’d” out of there. The eye would be within range of the other basements on the block, and I had perishable food in my looting buggy, so it was time to go. I punched out and headed for home, only to realize that I was still deaf. Some triffid queens had blocked the way I came, so I decided to look for an off-road route. Of course, I ran over a mine. It did quite a bit of damage, but since both I and my vehicle were armored, we were both still functional, at least. Then I discovered that there were a couple of undrivable forest tiles between me and the way home, and I couldn’t see any other way around, and night was falling, and I was in pain and still deaf and wondering if my hearing would ever return…

It was an emotional low point.

Where'd you find a stethoscope?

Dunno about him but I found mine in a hospital. There are probably some in Doctor’s Offices too but I always forget to bring the damn acetylene torch with me.

Yeah, hospitals. I think someone added them to doctor’s offices in a recent experimental, but hospitals are the most reliable places.
