But before doing that, make sure they aren’t armed with a good ranged weapon. Only kill an “innocent” NPC if they’re armed with melee or a crappy ranged weapon like a crossbow.

No, they get set on fire, plus they cough from smoke. They can also catch a fungal infection if they get caught in a cloud of spores.

…sorta. The blast is harmless, the radiation, not so much.

If you’re that desperate, a makeshift knife will work. Two small strings and a spike, (made from scrap metal and a rock).

But yeah, in my current game, my starting town didn’t have any cutting weapons better than a steak knife. It was weird.
