What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

I meant when i am carrying it. I assumed the worst, and dropped it before going into the town. Man, i suck badly at night raids.

Also, i posted it in wrong thread.

Spotted an evac shelter on the other side of the lake right next to a bridge. Was planning the spend the second part of the winter there, practising construction and making it into a semi-permanent base for offloading stuff. But to get to it, I had to go through a small town where I found an apc, which naturally had to be relieved of its armor. Then I had to repair, refuel and jumpstart a semi, an armored car and another car which were parked on the bridge, driving my rig in reverse to them each time (for the onboard welding access). Then I had to reconfigure my mobile base to make better use of my 9 cargo spaces. Then I had to sort all my crap since I had to offload it anyway. Then I had to break down all the items I didn’t need into components. Then I had to load all of it back onto the mobile rig (after some item triage).

It’s day 3 of Spring and I haven’t touched the evac shelter yet, other than to dump things inside. Sigh.

By the way, fish trap ftw.

Yeah CDDA is like that.
you plan on doing some thing but get distracted by all the other goodies around LOL.

Fish trap…really? nice never found one or are they constructed?

I think you find the recipe in Autobiography of a Mountain Man. Really low resource investment too - 2 plastic gallon jugs, then you need to reload it with some bait (which renews since you can bait it with fish).

I Kyle Reesed it with my super op (Granades are !!FUN!!) bionic character. Well, less Kyle, more Arnold. Z spawn 10.0, item spawn .5. Everything was going fine until I ran into a public works and the riot control bots got summoned. Relaxation gas sucks…fortunately the cloaking system still works. Bugged out and stumbled on a FEMA camp. Mission accomplished…now to clear out a town and rebuild my empire, at least until I get bored of it again.

Point of reference, I pulled this char from a world where I had an ice lab stocked with enough food and water to last years, enough firepower to conquer Poland, a KV-4tress that could ram through forests, and supplies to craft ANYTHING.

Silly, yes. But being rendered helpless again when the swarms of spitters and hulks show up is quite amusing. They actually managed to hurt me for a change.

EDIT: I just ran into a tank drone. Lucky for me I came out of the woods inside its cannon range…

My legs are both broken from acid and all my gear is destroyed. >:(

Oh yeah, so true.

Something is banging at the entrance of my base. What should i do? I recently turned on random NPCs, i dont want to open doors and receive shotgun blast in the face…

That’s the reason I don’t dare put on Random NPC’s.

I have stoped using random NPC`s as of today funny enough.

I use to have them on all the time but lately im getting pissed off with

“put your gun down”

I drop my gun and walk away

and still get shot in the head etc :stuck_out_tongue:

I remembered i have light amp goggles, ran back to main area to grab them, used another exit, carefully sneaked by the wall and peeked around the corner. Whoever or whatever was banging on my door was gone. All that was left was long, long blood stain ending with tattered sock and shirt. And a bunch of .38 casings. No bodies.

I am scared now. Closed all the doors and the gate and turned off the stereo. It might have been NPC that got mugged by Jabberwock or something.

Come on, wouldnt you shoot the sucker who just put their gun away?

More seriously, random NPCs spawn more often than Zeds. After 30 days that i spent crafting stuff there is a horde of them outside my villa.

I suppose so :stuck_out_tongue:

And thats a cool story when its morning check it out and report back I would love to see what happend

I briefly went outside in the morning. Picked up the casings, but there was no one there, only one Zed slightly away. I quickly went inside, that was needlessly risky. (yes, i play extremely cautiously)

TBH I dont blame you ya need to play carefully in CDDA thats how you die :frowning:

maybe it was an NPC banging on door zombie heard it and killed him

Yeah, now i feel guilty for not saving the poor soul that probably hoped to find shelter from the pursuing zombie…

I bet if you had let him in he would have killed you instead tbh :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah… thats pretty likely, too :d

You found shell casings, which means it had a gun. Which means it might have shot you in the face when you offered it the milk of human kindness. You did the right thing.

I actually yelped while playing Cataclysm last night.

My character has been living in an LMOE shelter for several seasons. She came home after a long day of foraging and, unsurprisingly, found her home exactly as she had left it: all of the doors were closed, all of the traps were undisturbed, and everything was in its place. So you can imagine my surprise when she opened her bedroom door to find a man with a hatchet lying on her bed. She stared at him. He stared at her. She closed the door and fetched a shotgun from the weapons locker; now she was ready to speak to him. She ventured back into the bedroom and, naturally, the first words out of his mouth were, “The eater of the dead…”. I was utterly uninterested in killing a jabberwock for this strange man. He wasn’t a threat to me, though, and I couldn’t bring myself to kill him. In the end, I let him keep his place in the bedroom, and I built a bed for myself in the workshop.

I suppose I have a housemate now.

Dragon, I assume you have Random NPCs on?
