So. It’s Day 3 for my current character. The previous day was spent entirely reading books and sewing up clothes, reinforcing everything I wear. Full health, ready to go, and there’s a small settlement with a pharmacy just begging to be raided. I had some okay melee skills, a makeshift crowbar, and a leather vest. What could possibly go wrong?
One landmine, several assorted variety Z-dogs, five wolves, one crowbar-wielding aggro-happy NPC, one shocker, more spitters/shriekers/soldiers than I cared to count, tons of regular zombies, two infected wounds, and one angry/amorous moose (who tripped more landmines) later, I’ve got 1.5 bars of health left in my head, a locker full of pharmaceuticals and medications, and a complete and utter lack of comprehension as to how the hell I managed to make it back to my locker as anything other than a corpse.
I can’t decide if the moral of the story is “Anything that can go wrong, will” or “don’t expect light resistance at 3.0+ spawn rate”.
(Funnily enough, the reinforced armor worked wonders. Torso and Left Leg are at full health despite stepping on a land mine. Arms are a bit banged up and the right leg’s got a slight dent, but other than that… Guess I need to find a helmet to complete the ensemble.)
