Is there any easy way to get soap? because otherwise it seems very difficult to clean filthy items.
a good work around would be the ability to craft soap through combining animal fats and charcoal/wood ash like they did in the old days
You can. Lye is made of wood ash and you can combine it with oils to craft soap.
