Can a turkey lay eggs? I tamed her like a chicken with bird food, but it’s been a week and not a single egg
Yes, but unlike chicken they only lay eggs seasonally (which is true for all other birds as well). In addition to that, I think turkeys (like most other tameable animals except thoroughly domesticated ones) can only be tamed as children, and so would have to grow up first.
Finally, I don’t know how often they are supposed to lay eggs. Probably not as often as chicken.
Mods can upset the above, of course.

Turkeys also have the issue that they can fly out of chicken coops, so they’ll either have to kept fully indoors or tied down.
It’s generally not too hard to find chicken eventually, though.

I’ve explored a decent chunk of the map around my base. But so far I’ve only found 5 dairy farms and none with chickens.
Some country houses in the big corn or wheat farms have a chicken coop (“o” on ascii map) and a green house.
