Driving around any city in the game especially with the new vehicle changes makes it nearly impossible to traverse during the daytime, and thats okay but there is literally no way to lower the zombie amount in the game anymore, so instant swarming happens everytime i try to explore a city.
Cities are supposed to be very dangerous. You’re not really supposed to just blast through 'em with a vehicle or dive in on foot casually.
You can try and slip in at night and make your way to a specific location if you’re in need of a quick targeted loot. If you’ve got grander ambitions and needs, you’ll want to post up outside the town, and accept that a one man siege of a city is not going to be easy.
Okay very dangerous but not 100 zombies in a radius so bad that the engine is chugging
Actually, yes, intentional - not the lag of course, that’s highly situational to what hardware you’re playing on. But having a mass of zombies come rolling down towards noise is intentional, to the point that the Horde mechanic that simulates that outside of the reality bubble exists entirely to achieve this goal.
This is even highlighted in the gameplay design doc - Even late game, hordes are supposed to be lethally dangerous even when you’ve got advanced gear, cybernetics and mutations and such. Do keep in mind this doc is describing intent and goals, not specifically what may be implemented at this time, so don’t take it as gospel, just guidance as to why things may be the way they are.
