A lack of calcium does cause brittle bones which I’d imagine slows down the healing of them. I hope it doesn’t cause too much trouble for my lactose intolerant character. Anyone know where you can get calcium aside from dairy?

EDIT: Aside from eggs, but they only give a 5 calcium.
I guess bones is a good source… Maybe that survivor\wastelander bread give you calcium? Sounds like we need vitamin and nutrient supplements added to the game. Maybe have a “Health store” which sells\got loot for that along with training supplements and herbal remedies.

How on earth do you guys take on tank bots? I just lost a character that survived for about a year to one, didn’t expect the range on that to be so large. any tips for my future runs?

Do you guys ever use macros for things like planting seeds?

Also, on an unrelated note, I tried to bury a companion in a grave, dug a shallow pit then normal pit, threw the body in, filled the pit, but the body is just on top. Would be cool for graves if you could bury items, but also for hidden ammo caches or for yer pirate booty
I’m wondering what the best way to train archery quickly. I have a character that I just got into autumn, and I wish to stop using my knife spear. The problem is, I’m constrained around the starting shelter with two medium towns that I already cleared out. There isn’t a ton of food around, and I find myself often having to waste ammo on animals for meat. I want to make sure I can bow everything to death, but what is the best way to train archery skills? I also need it for the fugal infections that box me in on all sides, quite annoying.
Oh, and how do you get into gun stores? crowbar didn’t work for me.
Easiest way is to make a blowgun and a bunch of darts. Put on an MP3 player and read a book to raise your Focus, then shoot darts at the square next to you until your Focus is down to ~30. Read the book until your Focus is back to ~120 then shoot some more darts.
Repeat for a few days and you should be able to get your Archery up to ~8, enough to make the reflex-recurve bow (book required).

You can get Calcium from multivitamins, which you can find in houses.

With sufficient skill levels in weapons for me. Unless they changed it now, tank bots had a sort of maximum range for survivors on foot; basically, while the tank bot can see my survivor in broad daylight, and was slowly approaching, the range of my survivor’s rifle was far better and the tank couldn’t approach shooting range as my survivor sniped it from a distance.

I think the max range of the tank bot’s gun is around 30 tiles - unless they changed it during the past four months. At the time, I recall that you can technically lure a tank bot to death from stepping on loose caltrops. Again, they may have changed this.

small tip, try attacking it when its dark

you can try ram it with car just give it better armor, steel plating can survive few heat shoots

use long range weapon and fire from darkness

lure zombies to tankbot, his ammo is not infinite (cool tip: after that you can grind up your melee skills ATATATATATA it to death, some people did it)

Last time I checked Tank Bots prioritize targets based on threat, so they don’t main cannon unarmed survivors. I usually just use darkness, invisibility if I have it, or smoke grenades to close the gap and EMP them. They don’t e’splode that way.

Otherwise? Control Laptop.

Even friendly tanks still try to flame you. It’s a bug.

They not longer do that, but have no qualms about shooting stuff even when you are in the way. So just hack it and let it do its thing from as far as you can.

Also, if you have antenna or IR and find an invisibility artifact, give it to one of your NPCs! You’ll still be able to find them, but enemies wont.

good idea! too bad i purified antenna

On the subject of best NPC weapons…has anyone considered whips? They’re fast, reach fairly far and most importantly stun the crap out of monsters.

Bullwhips?

They make noise.

Just like IRL, the best weapon should be a halberd. If not available, there are also: chinese spear, awl pike or survivor naginata.
Spears drain moves on hit, meaning that 2 dudes thrusting their spears at one target will nail it down and keep it on the spot. This could be removed now, since spears are already badass enough not to need any bonuses like that.

So how do jacks/lifting equipment work in the current experimental?

Quick question:
While the CloseCombatBattle Bionic is active it will provide better fighting stats.
e.g. Melee from lvl. 0 (10%) -> lvl. 5 (0%)
After fighting and deactivating the bionic, my stat is still lvl.0 (10%)
Is this intended? I would expect at least a slightly risen experiance

Yes, intended. It is explicitly checked for and prevents gaining all melee combat experience.
You can still learn the combat styles it offers by using them.

Gaining XP is prevented with active bionic, but if I train without it everything is normal? Is that boost alwasy 5 lvl, depending on the base stat. So lvl 2 -> with Bionic 7

Nope, to 5. Can lower from more than that.
