In the end, the bulky and heavily armored car I made had less cargo volume than my slimmer main car, which was decently armored.
Moral of the story: just turn a road roller into a bastardized RV, and you’ll be fine. o3o
Stupid question but I’d like to satiate my interest.
I found an armoured car a few days ago. What kind of an armoured car it was modelled after? The military one, the VIP type (Mercedes, Cadillacs, whatever presidents drive these days) or a security van?
I’d look into it myself but I’m far from my PC. Thanks.
Security van I believe. They’re supposed to be like bank cars I think. There’s also an FBI/swat van now though.
If its the one that spawns gold on the back its a security van like jewelleries and banks use.
If its the one with turrets I’ve got no idea. I think that it’s meant to simulate a survivor modified car, mostly because it’s got spikes on the front
John, I don’t remember about gold, but yes, it has red spikes in front. Terrific for ploughing stumbling idiots into the asphalt.
It does have turret(s) too although I failed to make any use of them. Anyway, I have those spikes and R700 with incendiary ammunition to do business so it’s not that important.
Why I’m asking this, it’s because I’d like to know how tough it is and whether I should start pumping my mechanics skills. The car does indeed look more like a regular car, I cannot shake that feeling it’s made of glass due to that blue colour of it Unlike the APC, but the latter seems to have a poor view from the cabin. Is that as intended?
The Armored Car that has a spiked ram along with front and rear gunner turrets is covered in Steel Plating (thus the Light Blue color). It’s far tougher and more resistant to damage then your average road vehicle because of that. It’s not as good as the Humvee, Military Truck, or APC which are all coated in Military Composite Armor (represented as Dark Green) which is far tougher (like 3x) but heavier.
Spoilers maybe but:
The Mycus mutation path, how do I keep getting mutations? I randomly got Mycus feeder but that’s it. Also related, but is there a better food for a Mycus feeder than just Mycus fruit?
I think its trough sleeping.
I dont think theres better food, no.
Well, if you two need me I’ll be stocking up on fungicide and napalm. :V

Seems like it, I just mutated spores after sleeping, but it has been nearly a week since I mytated Mycus feeder, if so the process is really slow

What mycus goods have you eaten so far? Basically, here’s an old thread with a shit-ton of potentially dated spoilers. Thread
If you don’t want that spoiled link I think the tl;dr is keep eating.
Likewise, I’ll be doing the same and will soon apply those again to all fungal things.
Maybe with some appropriate music to go along with it,
Is there any risk in using “water” when preparing food or should I use “clean water” to be safe ?
Nope
Recipes that don’t involve boiling require clean water, all others clean it “for free”.
Currently crafting system doesn’t support making different results based on ingredients. Only value that is passed to results is rot and water doesn’t rot.
Thank you. What about the limited view from the APC cabin?
Oh, yeah. That’s intended. If you look at the APC’s status screen you’ll see that it’s walls are made out of Heavy Duty Boards, these coupled with Heavy Duty Frames, and Military Composite Armor make the APC by far the toughest vanilla vehicle you can find in the game. The only issue with all that protection is you can’t see though Heavy Duty Boards (unless you’ve got a rare artifact) so you can only see out through the single Reinforced Glass Windshield in front of the driver’s seat.
There are a couple ways you can get around this though; a camera system along with a couple salvaged cameras from those robotic street sweepers can work wonders for viability, just replacing the heavy duty boards with quarter panels also works, putting in a regular driverside and passenger door can both let you see out the immediate sides of the vehicle and let you hop out whenever you want instead of having to climb out the back, you can put some rear view windshields in to better see out the back. Any combination of those can really help to impove the driver and cabin visibility of an APC or any other large vehicle.
We still need a tank though. Trying to recall if we have a port that can be opened and closed to see put at will, like on a tank. owo

Cheers. I’ll stick to my armoured car for a while then. Till I sort the cameras for the APC thing out
Trying to recall if we have a port that can be opened and closed to see put at will, like on a tank.Aye, that would be interesting. Like in Red Orchestra: Ostfront, where you can either stick your head out for better visibility (before dying from lead poisoning) or look through a viewport, thus being more protected but having a limited view.
I really wish the Heavy Duty Hatches could do that. We’ve got windshields which we an cover/close with curtains. But you can’t add em to hatchs, so the things are constantly open and visible.
