Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Jabberwocks are big monsters, like a zombie hulk. Fast, hits hard, but normally you only see one of them at a time. I don’t think they even show up unless there’s a mission for it. In any case, have good melee and armor, or a good ranged unless you wanna get killed. They don’t have the smash attack of a hulk, but I think they can knock you on the ground.

Basically, you get coordinates on where to find them, and the coordinates are always in a forest. If you can’t see them, you’ll know a Jabberwock is there with the loud roar they do. Also, the ChestHole tileset can make things a bit dangerous, since their tiles on that tileset kinda makes them blend in with all the trees.

If you got the mission from the lab, you won’t have any coordinates to the Jabberwock.

Wonderful.

:frowning:

Is there ANY way to find the bloody thing? The map has … lots and lots and lots and lots of forest.

Ah, if you got the mission under the lab there won’t be any Jabberwock at all. You have to find an NPC on the ground level for that mission to have an actual Jabberwock spawning.

Bugger. Is there any way to /cancel/ the mission? Or can I spawn in a Jabberwock via the debug console and do it thataway?

Dunno whether debug will work or not, but you can kill the NPC to cancel.

Tried that already, did not work :frowning:

Jabberwock missions should now work and properly set the coords.
Though if dead NPC didn’t cancel the mission, it can’t be completed. It probably can be removed from the save somehow, but other than that I don’t see a good way of canceling it.

Yeah, I resorted to editing it out of the save, that worked.

If an action raises two skills, will disabling one of them make the other raise more quickly? Case in point -> Rifles and Marksmanship.

Will adding stuff like military composite armor on the same tile as a solar panel affect the panel from getting energy?

No, the only factor that affects solar panels’ efficiency is what type of panel they are.

Is there any way out of “Sheer Drop” labs? I don’t want to hop down if I can’t get out again.

Long rope or grappling hook.

Is there a point to military black boxes? I have 2 and was wondering if they do anything other than take up space.

Do I just use it anywhere in the lab to crawl out again?

Also, what are Etched Human Skulls for? I found a boarded-up cabin in the woods, the basement of which turned out to be full of crazy lobotomized semi-zombies and a very unfortunate torture victim. Also, a skull on a pedestal.

You can decrpyt them at an analyzer in a lab. The only thing I’ve found for the results from that is an NPC quest… and infinite book material for internal furnace/paper/fire.

Etched human skull is for a quest.

It’s used when you first descend, you can opt to use the rope to climb down, leaving it behind as an upstairs-like terrain.

What do Granades do? The two I used so far seem to have had no effect at all, and I’ve got half a dozen more that I don’t want to waste.

Random crazy stuff. Pray you don’t get bees.
