Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

I’ve had a 3000-volume stack of canned food sitting next to my fireplace for 2 ingame years. Still as delicious as the day I looted them.
Have had cans of beans from the start of the game in multiple year long sessions. If they go bad. it’s many years to do so.

Ah, perfect. owo

Not sure about the glow though.
No, I’m definitely not running - it says “walk”, and I can hit " and stamina drains quite a bit faster and it says “run”, but stamina definitely drains while walking.

One of the problems I have with the stuff is that it’s not even self-powered. It takes up a gigantic part of my weight allowance despite the fact that, as powered armor, it -should- be carrying itself. That’s the whole selling point between extremely heavy personal armor and powered frames.

If I didn’t have a basic load of about 42 kilos with HPA+Frame+katana, I wouldn’t be so /super salty/. If I could actually strap items to the outside of my armor (survivor utility belt, scabbards, the likes) that’d be nice, too. >_>
Try to find some RM13; it’s not nearly as heavy and it allows you to wear other stuff along with it.
I think there was a thread in Drawing Board with good ideas on new PA variants. I’d make them but it requires code diving. :frowning:

Where can you find it? I would assume military bunkers/bases or labs? I have seen all variants of power armor but this RM13 is elusive.

I saw this weird advanced armor in a bank vault. In fact, I ran twice into it at two separate vaults. I can’t remember if it was RM13… RM prefix suggests Rivtech though, and Rivtech likes to keep their secrets at banks. That I do know

…Oh…

I hope you didn’t disable Rivtech guns when you started a new game?

If any of your stats ever goes down to zero is it fatal?
Had an idea about scenario, in which you need to find a cure to your cancer before your body withers away, put if cata doesn’t support “Death by zero stat” then it needs some further thinking…

I got mine, along with an RM-something ceramic fighting knife, from one of the ELEVEN BILLION SPIDERS basements in a house that was very close (6 map tiles) from a Lab.

Nope, no zero stat death here. The infected scenario is pretty much what you’re thinking of.

Well yes and no.
With infected the time is of essence, but what I was thinking would be more like taking possibly seasons with character slowly getting worse and needing meds (stims, painkillers and antibiotics) to stay operational.
Thinking Mr Stimcell beign the cure, or some mutation/bionic.
It would give a longterm goal instead of beign fatal within next 48 hours.

Are you wearing heavy mouthgear? Like a gasmask with a scarf on top? That would make it hard for you char to catch his/her breath.

Any particular benefit to carrying around a USB drive with Hackpro in it?

Not really. It’s a crafting component for the control laptop.

Ah, I see. For some derp reason I thought it might give a passive bonus when attempting to hack computer consoles.

EDIT: Also, in a lab. Need rocks. Any idea how to get some?

If you can craft an electric jackhammer, hit up the solid rocks?

If I could craft an electric jackhammer, I could be out of here instead of piddling around trying to preserve all this long pork. ;w;

Well, if you can luck out, the bedrooms may hold the right mechanics and electronics book that can give you the recipes and levels needed for crafting. Half the time they’re pretty much hidden on the beds, and if they’re there all crafting items you need are in the lab.

Otherwise, if you’re particularly insane, you could try getting a zombie brute to punch you through the concrete wall. I have no idea if that will work, but jackhammering the concrete wall of a lab does give one rock.

I have a Ruger 10/22 with a rail-mounted crossbow. However … I can’t seem to fire the crossbow. I want to use the crossbow because I can make crossbow bolts, but not arrows, and I want a reusable weapon to hunt small game.

If my ammunition is 0+1, I get the message ‘You need to reload!’. If my ammunition is 10+1, I fire the bullets, not the crossbow.

Help?

Yet another reason why maybe I shouldn’t have enabled Mundane Zombies. :V

Shift+F to cycle firing modes, to cycle through burst mode (if your gun has a burst mode) and mod mode (which is the one you’re looking for)
