as soon as I pressed $ I died instantly

What’s the point to a canteen? It has a higher volume, but why would one want that when it adds 2 additional weight, and one isn’t penalized for carrying a 20-stack of plastic bottles?

Currently, none. Though, a way to make it useful would be to make it like a real canteen. That strap is there for a reason, and a good canteen with a good strap will never get in the way unless you are truly terrible at carrying around a canteen.

I hereby commission thee to maketh this thought a creation!

Begineth!

IIRC somebody has already suggested doing this, though there was some discussion among the devs that has sort of suspended the idea for the moment.

Personally I prefer canteens, as they can hold up to what, 6 units of a drink?
Same with waterskins. But waterskins weigh less than canteens too?

I’ve spent plenty of time outdoors and a few canteens really don’t take up any space when attached to your belt or webbing.

Bah to canteens I say! Where is my camelbak?

forget that, give me a stillsuit!

Try to go with jugs! You only need two, one you carry around all the time and one that’s in your trunk/base. Filling one of the two with unclean water and then cooking it, you can comfortably fill 10 units of water into the other jug. Then you can carry 10 units of water in a relatively compact form and that lasts for quite a long time!
Bonus points for using the ammonia for batteries!

I agree. my first looting trip involves 4 PRIMARY things (order of importance):

[ul][li]Pot[/li]
[li]Backpack[/li]
[li]sewing kit[/li]
[li]Jugs (sure, puns intended)[/li][/ul]

seems silly to get any large container last but bottles can serve in a pinch.

what I carry with me on trips? canteen. piss on min/max, it’s all about the show kids

How rare are Labs/Bunkers? I’ve been playing this game for a week (or more) with different characters and been exploring along and off the roads but I have’t seen one of them until now. I’m playing on static spawn/classic Zombies.
Thanks in advance!

I’d say not rare at all. And I always have trouble finding some things. Military bunkers, outposts and labs though? Nope. Swarmed with em.
Also don’t play with classic zombies. You can’t butcher shockers for CBMs then. :<

What kind of CBM’s do they drop? Weapons only? Does the Classic Zombie option change anything else? No giant bees or something like that? Haven’t found them either… I saw an outpost once but died before I could gather enough supplies to tackle it. Are labs/bunks on roads or in the middle of nowhere?

you need a survival of 3 to get anything reliably. Mostly power supplies and power storage CBMs, but I’ve gotten ridiculous stuff like diamond corneas too.

I’ve not played with classic zombies much so I’m afraid I don’t know if beehives/giant bees are in or not. I think they are.

Classic removes all swamp creatures as well as labs and military bunkers. It also disables portals and flaming eyes from spawning.

Just normal zombies and animals. No shockers, spitters, etc. either.

I play with clasic zombies and I’ve yet to see bees or hives, or any labs/bunkers… so maybe that’s it?

Yeah, no bees or anthills or sewer creatures either.

…It’s really kind of boring when you think about it. I played a few characters and the nomad went from farm to cabin to farm to cabin endlessly, collecting 10-12 military keycards and ~40 lab cards.

I play on classic and have found a lab just recently. I don’t understand why classic zombies would affect such a thing anyways.

Switching from classic zombies did it for me. Interesting, I feel that should be mentioned in the settings menu, I thought it only affected, well, zombies.

How do I fill a vehicle with gasoline from a separate container?

'e’xamine the vehicle, move until youre over the gas tank, and then re’f’ill it.
