You’ll need Rivtech company secrets, currently conveniently located in your nearest secret underground laboratory. Maybe.
Wait, it wouldn’t happen to be the Rivtech design binder, would it?
I’ve found it in previous games, but haven’t found it yet in my current one and completely forgot about it until you mentioned ‘company secrets’
It is. I think you need some electronic skill as well if you want to craft the lamp.
Or, you could just slave up some shocker brutes for a somewhat okay source of light.
True, though it does take a shitload of tools to disassemble a tank bot, and it takes roughly a day…
Bear in mind you are disassembling a TANK by yourself. Be glad it doesn’t take longer.
You do not get the maingun from butchering the drone.
You get lots of other stuff though including plutonium cells the flamethrower an electroshocker a big electromotor and a m1a1 rifle + scrap and the chassis-
Nope that’s a cheat item. But to me be glad it is because it means the tankbot can’t use it either. Listen ok each shot alone does more than 1000 damage. Do you really want a tankbot to have that.
Yeah considering he oneshots you without it somehow it would probably be bad if he had it. hed oneshot you twice then.
AS far as i know its a pseudo item that is used to simulate the shot of the tankdrone. But i am sure that you are simply joking.
Well to be fair I never actually fought one before. At least not naturally and mainly to see how the control laptop works.
Discovering such things in the field is more fun.
I used my first control laptop on turrets inside a lab.
Then i disabled them all and took theire ammunition.
The only problem i had with this: What do i do with eseveral thousand shots of 9 mm.
Good thing is you can do this to mil spec turrets to n get 5.56 mm. perhaps you can salvage the .50 turrets too. Seeing how rare that ammo it it would be a welcome new source.

Go explore and find out.
The closest thing I found have been chicken walkers and they come at the most inconvenient of times and own me.
I ll test which tools are actually required.
edit:
A soldering iron and a hacksaw will suffice.
I’m quite sure this is not the case. I can’t test it atm, but AFAIK I tried it with A LOT of different tools, to no avail (this was some versions ago, though). Only when I brought a Welder it worked. Also, according to the Item Browser you need:
1 tool with screw driving quality of 1
1 tool with bolt turning quality of 1
1 tool with metal sawing quality of 1
soldering iron (30 charges) OR integrated toolset (30 charges)
acetylene torch (40 charges) OR welder (200 charges) OR integrated toolset (300 charges) OR makeshift welder (300 charges)
No I mean those are the closest thing I found naturally so I had to fight it. I usually have my ass handed to me. Although one time I nearly snuck past one by sneaking through some nearby building.
