Ninjitsu gets fast strikes. The silent strikes thing is just gravy (if you’ve also got light step, you can ghost around pretty well in the dark, though, killing zombies 3 steps from other zombies without them noticing, which can be nice). The real reason ninjitsu is stupid awesome and more OP than Krav maga?
Double damage with edged weapons.
Seriously, criting for 200+ damage with a katana, or quick striking for 40-50… yeah, squish. I can stand in open and face a horde of anything but spitters and shockers and kill them as fast as the come. Even hulks, usually (“usually” meaning “usually killing them without taking a hit”). Without bloody moving. In the open. It’s crazy.
Dielectric CBM, a gas mask, a halfway decent edged weapon (machete is sufficient), and the only zombie that gets your attention is the spitter. Nothing else is worth breaking stride for, much less being worried about.
I play on 20X monster spawn, and once the spitters are dead, enormous clumps of zombies are annoying for the tedium of butchering, nothing more. No fear, not even any equipment damage. I’m thinking about restarting without ninjutsu, just because it’s so brokenly overpowered.
That seems worth 3 points. I just made a character with ninjutsu and found a katana in a pawn shop. But all I do is rapid strike with it, do I need certain level of melee weapons to do the double damage critical?
The wiki doesn’t say anything about weapon skill increasing critical hit frequency, but dexterity has a huge impact. At 13 dex you get a 75% crit chance, and at 18 dex you receive a 100% crit chance.
aditional 4 points with strenght do not give you 150+ damage with weak bladed weapon

i think some level in mele and cutting (something about 4 or 5) should make surprise attacks happen more commonly too (imagine critical surprise attack if regular one do 150+ damage and pulp dogs on 1 hit)
I’ve seen these strange formations as well… it may be a sign from the RNG gods. Maybe a chicken walker died and the resulting explosion created a hole in the road???
Two big possibilities:
It’s a crater and is highly radioactive. Nothing else is special about it.
It’s an artifact spawning location. Dig out the center and you’ll find an artifact. These ones often do weird things like pulsing with acid too.
Well, it’s radiation level 32 (checked with geiger counter), and I dug a pit (not a deep pit) in the center, and it had no artifact…
I’ve found artifacts before, and they in the middle of rubble, not rocks and rebar. It’s strange.
Then it’s a map special radioactive crater. They are literally just intended to represent a spot where a small nuclear bomb went off, nothing else special about them.
Hmm. Okay, quick strikes from Ninjutsu are nice and OP just like Krav Maga. Seems kukuri is off limits though, I’m only getting the silent strikes.
EDIT: Small error, it seems even unarmed I’m not getting reliable quick strikes. >.>
Hmm, not sure what to tell you there - with 12 dex and 3ish unarmed, I generally get either surpised/crit or quick strike.
This, and more importantly the fact it doesn’t have the “is a critical hit” or other effects that restrict it, means it goes off all the time if you have 2 unarmed skill. This is also mainly my only exception to being leery of faster-yet-weaker hits. 3:

OK, I haven’t done any code diving, but I can tell you that I get “you quickly strike XXX” messages VERY often, and that, when I do, I can get in several strikes before they strike me once.
Different topic: “NOBODY DROPS MAIAR INTO LAVA” message… ??? weird… Are there any more of these (I’ll keep looking), or is it a one-off?
Weird. I’m on one of the recent experimentals, so it’s unlikley to be recent changes, but the basic Ninjutsu effect is only when you move, and doesn’t grant a speed bonus. Meanwhile the only technique is a crit effect.

Probably his weapon giving him rapid strike technique. Ninjutsu only has upgraded precise attack called surprise attack dealing 200% dmg which requires 3 unarmed to work for both melee and unarmed. That, silent strikes and the dodge and to hit buff on movement makes ninjutsu quite worth the 3 points.
If I have two characters in the same world, and they come to the same place, how dies that work? Will each just disappear while the other is loaded? How does this work with the passage of time in a world?
