There’s still a handful of buildings/furniture that are missing deconstruct/bashing info. I’m currently working at filling those gaps in, but until that PR gets finished up and lands (which should hopefully be in the next week or two) there are a few that are still missing that information. In a worst case scenario for now you can just use the debug menu map editor to edit the fire place back to dirt/floor, and pretend that you smashed it into bits.

I have tried searching for an answer to this, but forum search and Google have both failed me.

Is there a way to build a door where a window once was?

I decided to set up base in a house near the centre of town, camping in the basement. The stairs to the basement are on the right hand side of the house, immediately next to a couple of windows. The only door to the building in on the opposite side, which is a pain as I have to cross 3 rooms. I smashed and cleared one of the windows with the intention of building a door there, but it says I cannot do that. I am guessing it is because it is still classed as a window (getting the message that it is slow moving past the empty window.)

Ideally, I would like to clear the empty window and replace it with a door for easier access without having to leave an un-boarded window next to the stairs. Is this possible?

What do I need to build a rope and pulley system? I mean, do I need to build the gate separately? If so, then in what order should I build each thing and how can I make them to “cooperate”?

Sorry for the good amount of questions I ask lately, but right now I’m doing some serious refitting of my evac shelter base.

The books are pretty common, libraries, hardware stores and houses are all a good source of low level mechanics/construction books

Please help. I was bitten deeply by zombie and now my leg is infected. How to cauterize wound? I tried undressing, activating pocket or combat knife and lighter while wielding it or not - i just don’t have any options that will cauterize/clean wound. My medicine is 0, maybe it’s because of that?

Well, try to find a first aid kit or a bottle of disinfectant first if you want to disinfect the wound. Then everything should be okay (if you didn’t take too long to look for it). But if you start showing infection symptoms then you should look for antibiotics to get rid of it.

I don’t know much about cauterizing wounds, but I think you can do it if you have a soldering iron nearby.

Depends on if the wound is green or blue, if its blue, you can cauterize by (a)pplying a knife and choosing cauterize while you have a lighter in your inventory, it will cause about 30 pain a go and may take several goes to get it to work, you can do the same with a soldering iron, using disinfectant or a first aid on the area also works.
If its got to the stage where the wound is green then you need to find some antibiotics/royal jelly (you can also cheat it in with debug if that is your thing).
You can still cauterize with no skill, thats not an issue.

Thanks. It was blue, and i had combat knife, pocket knife, bunch of lighters, matchbooks. I tried to activate all that items in any way possible while also undressing - there were 3 options: cut something, make a zombie slave and some other one (no relation to medicine, just forgot it). Lighters were with fuel.

What exactly should i do to cauterize wound? If it’s possible, step-by-step explanation. Infected guy died already though.

Your answers are much appericated. I always try to google/wiki answers, but everywhere it just says “activite the pocket knife with lighter in inventory”.

Exactly what i’ve done first. There are 4 options with (A) pocket or combat knife: 1) Cut up items 2) Carve something onto something 3) Make a zombie slave 4) Cancel

I have lighter (3 of them, 100%), and i also have fire near me (set manstion on fire). Zombie bite me some time before that, i have INFECTED: LEFT LEG status and i have LEFT LEG in blue in my health status. That’s weird. Maybe it’s this new build? Do i need to have medicine skill?

Much appreciated. Sorry, maybe i’m doing something wrong. I started playing yesterday.
