Alternatively what is the best way for boosting chances to learn recipes because I’m starting to get annoyed by having to spam the key presses because it won’t make multiple tries for learning something.
Well, you need to read the book, have skill level equal to the item you’re trying to craft, and have the book in your inventory for it to be able to be crafted without memorization.
Odd. Have had books in inventory, looked at crafting screen, and not seen the extra recipes in there. Also does it tell you if you don’t have enough skill to learn the recipes in the book?
Are you playing 0.A or Experimental? I’m pretty sure it’s a new Experimental feature.

Yah, you gotta read books once to see if they are worth it.

Playing experimental, mine says version 39f1af0.

If I make a cache of food that can rot, outside of the reality bubble or in a basement, it will still rot, right? even if I’m on a different Z level?
If I make a cache of food that can rot, outside of the reality bubble or in a basement, it will still rot, right? even if I’m on a different Z level?
no but i am not sure better get minifridge

It actually won’t rot.

Rotting should be calculated based on the turn it was created vs the turn you see it vs the rot rate of the food. So, if you leave a bunch of unspoiled food outside of the reality bubble, when you return, it should perform the rot check, and rot it if it should be rotted and not if otherwise.

A separate issue is finding unrotten food in newly generated areas, long past when it should have rotted.

Well, im not 100% up to date, but I know stuff stashed in basements used to rot.

Is there any particular reason to use a bow over a crossbow?

Faster rate of fire- crossbow reloads are hell in a handbasket. Also higher-level bow/arrow combos can be better than the crossbow IME.

Hmm, I seem to recall having issues getting decent damage out of a bow but once I picked up a crossbow I’ve been using it ever since. I may or may not have the reload speed maxed out due to str so that might be why I don’t see much of an issue with reload times. I’ll see if I still have the bow I use to use in my mansion and see about giving it a shot again I suppose.

crossbow are easier to obtain at start of game maybe they have big lack of firerate but they pack a punch they are nice as a backup weapon for mele fighters if they meet enemy too strong for mele (like manhack or eyebot)

I’ve been main weaponing the crossbow ever since I found it xD

Might have helped that it can accept more mods than a bow… That might be it.

REFLEX RECURVE BOW IS KING

The trick is finding it…

Trick is crafting it and reking zeds with metal arrows.

Well need to find the book for the recipe first xD

Waiting on my car to charge to go searching through cities again but even though its summer it seems to rain /alot/. Though I suppose putting 4 storage batteries in doesn’t help.

Newbie here, got a question, and this seems the appropriate spot. Is there any way to break down walls? Not walls like the ones you build, I’m talking about the ones on stores, houses, mansions, etc… I had a character (now dead, forgetting about worn rollerblades + meleeing zombie dogs = roll up a new character) who was settling into a mansion. I had a side room that was the perfect size for a garage, but I would’ve needed to break down the exterior walls to do it. Mind, I know that setting the wall on fire or ramming a car through it will do the trick, but I was hoping for something a little more controlled and a little less hazardous to one’s health.

Jackhammer or pickax.

It’s amazing how little gas an idling 1-cylinder engine takes.
