Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Hi guys!

Just started to try this awesome game, but have the most noobish question ever  If followed by several monsters, who are as fast as me - what can I do? I do not find a “run” command? How to shake off my attackers, if a fight is hopeless?

Thanks and greetings,

Cfant

You cannot run any faster, your best bet is to slow whatever is pursuing you by luring them through bushes (dont step in the bushes yourself though).

Exploit your superior intelligence and mobility.

Zombies are very stupid and will always move straight toward you. Position yourself to lead them into obstacles that you went around. Even bushes can gain you time, heavier obstacles more.
You can open doors, they can’t. Run into a house, slam the door in their face then quickly escape out a back window while they’re bashing the door down and trying to navigate the furniture.
Carrying smoke bombs may help you break line of sight as well.

And of course, drugs. Lovely lovely drugs.
(Cola, caffeine pills, adderall, crack… anything with a stimulant effect is useful in a pinch because it will boost your Speed value).

Thanks. Getting better, although I don’t outclass the Zombies in intelligence, I fear  Well, thanks to your tipps I survived day 1. Yeah!

Being Mac is suffering.

Mac experimentals when?

Don’t wear so much stuff

You’ll be able to survive even further, just lead zombies to bushes one at a time and give them a good bash with a weapon! It is the safest tactic - it allows 2 good hits to be landed (kind of depends on the weapon really) and you can run away without harm. It’s a bit of a ‘sweaty’ tactic, but it’ll have to do until you can be a badass slicing up zombies like they’re watermelons in your homemade survivor suit!

honestly i don’t.think anyone should take it if they want combat to be challenging but if you grab quick and fleet footed traits. nothing will catch you

I don’t understand. Would it give you more power output? Would it waste gas?
Basically it would waste gas, all engines have a power output for moveing alternators take away some of this and give you back electricity.

1 tile wide windows are the best thing for fighting zombies at, with decent stats and an ok weapon you can fight off 10s of Zs very early game.

Ah okay. Thanks for your help.

Hi. I befriended an NPC a while ago, and then I lost them. I tried to get back in my vehicle, and I keep getting this message: ‘DEBUG: empty passenger part 5pcord=65,60 u=67,60? Press spacebar…’ This happens every time the vehicle moves even a single square, and it has become unusable. Any advice on how to fix this problem?

Check your keybindings, find the one that says “Toggle Debug Messages”, bind it if it isn’t already bound, then just switch debug messages off. It’s a stopgap measure, but that’s what I do.

Remove all seats from the car.

Well, well, another one bites the dust  Some more questions arise:

started in a region with just a very few buildings near. Got infected with no pharmacy anywhere. So - what to do? I died within a day or so by this infection from a zombie bite. Bad luck or could I have done something to buy me time?

found a military bag, quite useful  How can I see, if it hinders me in combat? And how can I repair clothes and bags?

I’m a silent walker, only causing 2 noise when going around. still any zombie around comes in to me. how far can they hear?

Even in a bed, I cannot fall asleep (when wounded). What to do about that, if I have no useful pills?

Thanks a lot for any help

You could of cauterized the infected wound (When it’s blue) and healed it. And it’s bad luck that you had a small town.

Press @. It’s shift+2.

Find a sewing kit or craft a wooden needle/bone needle and load it up with thread/plant fibers/sinew. Then activate and select the letter of your clothing.

Don’t get so close.

Wait for your char to get tired. There’s a nighttime, you know

For the infection, use [a] to use a knife of some sort (pocket knife, combat knife, etc.) while you have a lighter to cauterize yourself. Using first aid kits or bottles of disenfectant on the infected wound will always work as well.

Use [a] to use a sewing kit to repair up your stuff - you’ll need a decent tailoring level and some of the material it is made out of though.

The zombies can hear quite well, but it’s usually because they have spotted you, as they follow you for quite a while after they have done so.

Take the ‘sleepy’ trait. If you can’t sleep getting your hands on a book and reading by the computer monitor in the evac shelter passes the time.

Hope that helped! EDIT: I must have posted this at the same time x)

Ninja’d.

In order:
Infections can be dealt with in the deep wound phase by disinfecting the body part, either through disinfectant or first aid kits. In an emergency, with a lighter and a knife, you can cauterize the wound by (a)ctivating the knife, causing damage to the part and a lot of pain, but that doesn’t always work, it sometimes speeds up the rate of infection.

You can see your encumbrance in the character sheet, press @ to open it tab to switch which panel you’re looking through, torso encumbrance affects your melee skills, hand and eye encumbrance affects range skills. Gear can be repaired with a sewing kit if it’s cloth or leather (Maybe kevlar too?) but you’ll need decent tailoring. A solder kit (and I think a welder) can be used to repair metal and plastic gear.

Zombies have slightly less visual range than you, chances are, if you can see them, they’ll see you soon. Silent walker only affects how hidden you are when they can’t see you.

When dealing with an infected wound, there’s no real way to get to sleep, you’ll have to tough it out. Drink lots of coffee or energy drink to keep your tiredness down.

WOO. 3X HELP COMBO.

I think mine was better.
