Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Depends, you need what, 750? batteries to build the vehicle with the makeshift welder, those are a lot of wasted batteries that could have been put to a better, especially when you can use the comparatively useless duct tape, and even if batteries are common, theres no need to waste them, I dont know If i got extremely lucky, but I have found 2000 units of ductape in my last two in game days

Well, it depends on your situation. I almost never find duct tape early game, but I can find a lot of batteries by disassembling electronics. 750 batteries is slightly less than four cell phones.

And really, there generally isn’t a better use of batteries than using them in welders or in flashlights.

Yeah a makeshift welder works well too, I think I just hate the idea of wasting the batteries using a less efficient option.

Thanks man, appreciate the help. Now I guess I need to make a couple of these generators so I could have all the shelter lit up when I need it, not just the main room.

Add some casters(or wheels if it takes up two spaces)and you can have light wherever you want it, just press + direction to grab it and drag it around.

Also, both batteries and duct tape can be made; for duct tape you just need to collect lots of bones to make superglue, then use the super glue and some rags, thread, and plastic chunks to make the duct tape. For batteries find some vinegar and drink lots of soda and eat lots of canned food, and gather some scrap metal.

An alternative for vinegar is to set up funnels to collect acid during acid rains, but you still need to eat every bit of canned food and soda you can find though.

Make four makeshift welders. Start your vehicle construction. Turn three of the welders into a vehicle welding rig. Install it on the vehicle along with a battery and solar panel. Now you have infinite welder power given enough time.

This is pretty nice, but I think I can loot enough batteries and duct tape for the time being. I’m not really an uptight camper so I always find just enough materials that I need.

But hes underground and he cant move it there! Plus you need like 7 in mechanics and 8 in electronics to craft the recharging station.

How dose the vehicle tracking item work?
I crafted and installed it into a vehicle, but my pda only turns on a flash light app?

You don’t activate it, you just need a PDA in your inv. Move away from your car (like a map tile away) and a c will be on the map. That is your car.

Ahh, thanks, I thought I needed to do some weird magic shit.

Well, you DO need to start up your car first and activate the tracker, but you ought to have figured that out by now.

Wait a minute though, doesn’t the tracker have a turn on/off option when you look at your vehicle controls? Like headlights etc.

Yeah.

Whoops, somehow I missed this post.

I just found out you can put knives in your boots by applying the boots

That’s pretty neat.

Found that out not too long ago, can you put a pistol in a chest holster? I didn’t have one to try that out, but I remember trying to (a)ctivate drop pouches and utility vests to see if I can do anything with them.

No.
