Now did it give you an IFF beep, or buzz angrily? The whole solar thing on laser turrets needs revisited, but until then I’m wondering if–somehow–it was hostile but couldn’t fire due to bad weather??

(Just guessing there.)

cant remember what it did but I couldn’t pick it up, only whack it, wasn’t able to shoot because it was cloudy, Im starting to think that solar based stuff is pretty much useless since its almost always going to be cloudy or raining, at least in my world. at least i don’t need to worry about water, got one 55 gallon barrel full of water and im thinking of placing more

Hi all. I saw a Let’s Play video of this game over the weekend and liked what I saw. Will definitely contribute financially and intellectually to the project.

I started a character in the windows stable version 0.9, but I see now that an update is available. How do I go about updating and still have that character alive and playable. I did search the forum a bit, but couldn’t find an answer. Don’t want to read too much as I like to discover and figure out things ingame myself.

One think you could maybe tell me, is whether there is electrical power to appliances(fridges, microwaves, etc.). I could not figure out how to use them, but don’t want to spend too much time if there is actually no electricity flowing to these appliances. The computers seem to have power, so I’m assuming these other appliances also has. I’d prefer if you just tell me yes there is power or no there is not.

Thanks.

a far as I can tell, fridges, ovens, microwaves don’t have power, not sure why the consoles do but I’m guessing they are on a different grid

@ Stingray - there were too many changes made between 0.9 and the 0.A RC for saves to be compatible.

If you made a character template, you can copy the .template file however without problems.

No power outside of a few consoles and card readers. Refrigeration is possible, but you said you didnt want spoilers, so no telling ya :3

Thanks for your speedy replies. I’ll start with the updated version then upon the demise of my current character. Which hopefully is in the distant future. :stuck_out_tongue:

Im fining myself constantly attacked by zombears, zombie dogs and moose, why is that and how do I avoid it outside of placing turrets? don’t have the resources to keep them shooting at the moment

Zombears/Dogs spawn randomly out in the wilds so they just constantly show up suddenly in the middle of a filed miles away from town(s), nothing you can really do about them except get skilled enough that they minor annoyances at best, Or get a vehicle and run 'em over (Or RSLG* from them).

Moose on the other hand I think only aggro if you get too close to them.

well im trying to build a base and im getting attacked every few hours by at most 6 dogs and 2 bears in an hour, sometimes I get moose attack me when im asleep though that seems to have stopped when i got animal empathy

i have been dealing with them, so far almost 60 days and ive killed almost 200 zombie dogs an 80 zombears, an this is with just a single foray into town looking for books, and with that run i killed probably about 200 assorted zombies

Well, ya know, killing things is kinda part of the game… :stuck_out_tongue:

Though true, Zombie dogs and Zombears could probably use a spawning nerf.

IIRC zombie bears and zombdogs spawn rates were indeed nerfed in the experimental/RC about a week ago.

I increased the spawn rate to 1.5 but while i don’t mind the noticeably higher number of zombies, the frequency im attacked is much higher than what i remember from some months back

I’m getting moose attacks too, the best case was when a moose decided to barrel in through the only window of a house that wasn’t boarded up. How the heck did it know I was inside?

I guess it smelled me, but I thought the accuracy of tracking by smell was reduced?

These aren’t regular moose(pl), they are psychic mutant ninja moose, they know where you are and how to get at you and they know when your not expecting them* and thus when it is best to strike.

Also, it can track the window by scent, as the scent radiates from a relatively small point, and after smashing through that, it can see you.
