Saving GAMES

So I have to quit the game.
I go Shift+S
The small window appeare (Are you sure Y/N)
Shift+Y
Nothing gappens.
Caps lock > Y
Nothing happens.
Assume it’s saved.
Alt+F4
Come back later, load. No saves.
Why? :C

OK. Since you used Alt-F4, we’ll presume you’re using a Windows version. It’d help us to know what version you’re using (either a stable, or the weird number & letter hash on the title screen/window title bar if it’s an experimental).

Does this routinely happen, or is it a one-off thing?

If it’s your first time or routinely happens: can you check whether you’ve unzipped DDA to a folder that permits writing to a file? If you’re playing it zipped or don’t permit DDA to write a file, it can’t save your game. (Yeah, that may sound mean, but people have made that mistake before.)

Thanks for helping us help you.

I downloaded the stable version, it’s unzipped.
So how do I allow DDA to write files?

And thank you :3

Sorry if you’ve already tried this, but have you changed the option for Force Y/N for answers?
If you turn it off, you don’t need to press shift, so that might do something?

Thank you!

That’d be a folder permissions thing. Varies on what computer/OS you’re using; if you use WinXP like I do your save and config folders should not be “Read-only” in their Properties.
