This can’t be intentional, it occurs every turn. Very irritating. I can’t wait to get my NPC follower killed horribly somehow.
DEBUG: NPC tried to eat food, but couldn’t find any!

Yeah its a bug, but you can try to debug her/him some food if you want. You can do it through the check npc command of the debug menu

There’s a debug command to insta-kill any NPCs in sight, too. Thanks for reporting.
