How to get sound to work?

Hi,

Very new player to CDDA here and been trying for the past hour to get the sound to work. Latest experimental build, graphical. Trying to scavenge posts on reddit and elsewhere mostly a year old trying to figure out the not very clear instructions and just very confused. It doesn’t seem to be particularly difficult, just the file structure needs to be known and maybe a text file with some commands?

Please help?

And as a help to new players to this (amazing game) the wiki for downloading should be updated with such instructions.

I got it working! After the second try of using the launcher. Didn’t realize that the sound pack had to be manually selected.

Good for you, but in case someone else wonders in.

To use soundpack you can either use launcher(windows) to download it or download them yourself.
If you used the laucher it will auto place the soundpack in the necessary folder so you need to go to the game > settings > options and right at the bottom there should be “Choose soundpack= Basic” (by default), you need to select the soundpack wich you downloaded and then restart the game.

Now if you dont use launcher or the soundpack inst covered in the laucher (Mine for example…gratuitous self ad is gratuitous).

Download the pac, go to cdda folder > data > sound and just drop the soundpack(unzipped) in there. Then you need to go to the game > settings > options and right at the bottom there should be “Choose soundpack= Basic” (by default), you need to select the soundpack wich you downloaded and then restart the game.
