Hmmm, now that i got you, could you review this? (http://smf.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?topic=450.msg84022#msg84022)
It got some obvious errors when erasing the paint inside the characters, tbh.
Sorry if i push you, haha, but you know that being reviewed is like drugs.[/quote]
Well, hmm, those are harder to review.
Other than what you mentioned, I think that the the two other biggest mistakes are this: That big spot of gray fog in the lower left, which if you consider the distance between the camera and the scene shouldn’t be there as light fog is only noticeable when you are far from it.
And then there is the muzzleflash :(. The flash is never disconnected from the barrel. And recoil isn’t felt until the slide is completely forced to the back and by the time that happens, both the flash and the bullet are long gone. A good rule of thumb is to say that the flash is always faster than the bullet and because of that if you depict both, the bullet should be somewhere inside the flash. I think that the problem is that you tried to depict everything at the same time, and it ended up looking stranfe.
The glare on the pistol also looks off, but because I am a complete noob when it comes to painting I could actually tell you what is
The rest of the picture looks very good, and you managed to impart a very good fabric texture to the clothes.

Just to say that this arent image less posts:
All those slow mo gunshot videos made me draw this

(Its pretty small, ehh?)
By the way that is also a not realist interpretation, as the slide doesnt begin moving backwards until after the flash is gone (but you can get away with drawing it like this because this is how gunshots look in holywood)
And a material study, part some sort of crown or circlet possibly.
