I used to get upset seeing people’s amazing art. You put in the hours, your art goes somewhere. By the time you’re amazing, your style has become so YOU that it’s still incomparable to anybody else. It’s like being a kid and feeling inferior because some people are astronauts and you’re not, and then growing up to be a qualified surgeon. Put the time in, judge your skillset by where it’s come from, and not by where others are going.
Unless you like where someone else’s efforts are going, then rip apart their methodology and cannibalize whatever lessons are evident.

Damn, the feeling of inferiority was real. I like your work, and i’m not the best artist ever. I can’t say I have the same feelings as you once did though, I never really aim big, so when i make something that’s mediocre at best and see some one like you, dino or stopsignal make awesome stuff; it gives me motivation to doodle a little bit more and just have fun. cause that’s all that really matters right?

That is absolutely what matters, provided fun is your end goal.
I feel some sense of loss over lacking daily hour-long chunks of time with nothing to do but draw because highschool was stupid in its timeslots. I don’t regret how stupid that time was, but the patience to work on elaborate art pieces came easily when it was literally the only choice besides boredom or homework. My art served me as a coping tool then. Now I use it to tell jokes or ideas. I suppose my style shift reflects this.
A difference of purpose is not a bad thing, and I think I will take my own advice and stop feeling so bad over drawing less than I used to. When I do, it is fun.

Hey, no need to be like that!
@codeslamer: This is the exact code you need for your picture.
You can find that address by opening your picture in a new tab, or there should be an option to copy the image URL in your browser’s context menu (right click the image on Windows.)
I must say that a username like “Code Slammer” would make me think you could figure this out. Just saying.
