Crafting ingredient range/reach

Hello, I am trying to find out how the crafting works with specific regard to the reach/distance allowed. I seem to remember that 7 tiles away from the character was the limit of how far the crafting menu would see items nearby but it has since changed to 6 tiles.

Its a little petty of me but I have grown used to this 7 tile reach and would like to change it if possible while learning more about the games guts.

fairly certain its always hovered around 6 tiles, it may have been more at some point but at least 2 years ago it was also 6. thats 6 square tiles though, you cant just move your stuff a bit closer?

regardless, to answer your actual question the code for crafting itself is here, though i dont know how you’d actually change the distance.
