it always seems like animals area bigger problem then zombies due to how frequently they seem to spwan, i just had to kill two bears at once then got mauled by zombie bear while trying to dump some stufff after the fight.
Did you pick the ANIMAL DISCORD trait?
Apparently it causes the bears to militarize and send commandos after you.
add yet another bear while trying to cook the meat of the first 2, this town really has a bear problem apparently 4 bear attackes in less then one game hour is normal

I like this analogy…makes it seem like the Bear nation is actively waging a war against you and its your job to fend them off as the last hope for humanity…
all the while they send coyote militia and wolf strike squads after you. food is a non issue a few days in 
and once you’ve got 3-4 dodge you have nothing to worry about.
