[0.8 Stable] You carve the rope - 30 ft into 20 skewers

Erm, what? Wooden skewers out of rope? I was trying to cut the long rope into 6 feet pieces, for building palisades, but I got skewers.

Another thing, not a bug, I’d love it if I was able to craft hoes, so I could plant seeds. Maybe you can, on high fabrication skill levels, I haven’t seen a recipe for them yet. Egyptians are still using these ancient looking all wooden hoes in farming. I’d imagine you’d need 2 heavy sticks and something to tie it together to make one.

You have to [D]issemble the rope to get smaller ropes.

Did you know that you can dissemble string to get thread?

For some odd reason rope was flagged as being made of wood in 0.8 stable. It’s been fixed in the experimentals for a while now.

Fabrication skill of five is required, and since it’s a blacksmithing recipe you’ll need the proper tools.

I can dig that technology didn’t allow for fancy modern hand tools, but stuff like that leads me to believe that those oldschool farmers must have had a fetish for back pain. I mean really, would it have killed them to put a decent length handle on their tools? It’s not like sticks don’t come in varying lengths.
