You have to play (effectively) Russian Roulette with “failed installs” until “some of your existing bionics are lost!” removes the ones you don’t want.

Hey guys, I’ve seen the Wiki mention cultists but I have never seen one. Do they only spawn when NPCs are turned on or am I not looking in the right spots? I feel they must be purged for not following the Church of Marloss.

Making a charcoal purifier, water purification talents or an electronic water purifier allows you to purify large quantities of water at one go.

The FoodCo Kitchen Budy is what I use, it’ll draw from your vehicle’s batteries and clean the water.

There are also two bionics that do this using different methods.

I just found a fields tile with grey # signs all over it, kind of in the shape of a puddle, but they blocked vision like rubble. When I examine them, they just say grass or dirt or field, etc. I can walk through them like any normal area. What is?

It’s a separate rubble style, I’m not really sure what the point is but to my knowledge there’s nothing inside.

How do I get it to do all that, though? Examining it gives me the prompt to purify water, and if I say no I just jump to the vehicle menu.

You can craft all the recipes requiring those tools when you’re near it, I don’t believe they provide any activated ability other than the water purifier.
