Shove those bolts in a quiver…
i just readen factions
my folowers are known for thier robiotics factories O_O
Quiver also negates weight?? I thought it was only vlume
I think they’ll stay upstairs, but don’t quote me on that.
I built a pneumatic bolt driver, thinking it was vastly superior to pneumatic assault rifle; yet the weight penalty of carrying useful ammo (metal bolts) vastly outweigh’s advantages like penetration.
Which do you guys prefer? And what mods do you use on these weapons?
I never used the pneumatic assault rifle, because bolt driver’s stats just looked so much better to me.
It’s a very solid gun, it can easily wreck robots of all kinds (looking at stats alone, it should be able to eventually wear down a tank drone). Pneumatic rifle might be better for some unarmored enemies and maybe for training, because its ammo is even cheaper than bolt driver’s, but I’d rather just melee those.
For me, the choice is not pneumatic rifle vs bolt driver, but bolt driver vs reflex recurve bow. You need strength for the bow and its ammo takes more effort to make, but its stats rival bolt driver’s and once you get enough skill you can spam arrows like crazy.
All silent weapons are great vs robots. Robots have no sense of smell, meaning they can only find you when you’re visible or moving. Standing still and plonking at bots will not get you noticed.
Splendid, I’ll give it a shot.
I have a couple other questions on survivors though. For one I keep randomly finding them in the basement of my bunker, running around like they own the place until I shoot them and make them into snacks. (I have both static and random NPCs on, I like as much stuff going on as possible.) I put down some turrets, but turrets ignore survivors. Now I freely admit that I rarely actually close the two metal doors I built to isolate the interior of the surface-level bunker, and the game could very well be tracking them as they walk in through the open doors and down the stairs into the basement. I just wonder if that’s the case and if closing the door upstairs will really keep me from having to shoot dudes rooting through my kitchen.
The other question I have has to do with bulletin boards. I’m curious how far an NPC can wander while instructed to guard one. Because I was thinking about expanding my bunker basement base by blasting a large chamber out of native rock, putting a bulletin board back there, recruiting survivors, and telling them to guard it. I just wonder how far the bulletin board would need to be from my supplies to keep them from wandering away from my cannibal death camp survivor refuge and getting into my stuff.
Egad! you quoted me.
The thing is that Random NPCs can spawn morer or less anywhere (much like Dynamic Spawn) so if you have folks underground, it’s more likely that they just appeared there, rather than descending into your base.
No idea re bulletin board, as I’ve not done a whole lot with NPC AI. Sorry.
Pneumatic assault rifle, no mods. Maybe an ergonomic grip or something. Accurized.
Free ammo for when I’m wandering through cities, lighter (a very big deal for a character with 7 str and a bad back), and burst fire with pebbles is plenty for taking down shocker brutes. Loaded with bearings, it’ll handle turrets, copbots & securitybots, or bionic operatives just fine, so long as you’re making proper use of stealth.
If I want to take down something that won’t handle, I probably want to break out the heavy weapons anyway.
AFAIK NPCs won’t travel up or down stairs, at least not when they’re following you.
only time when i used pneumatic rifle i used it after i killed npc what started to bash me with it
its realy nice weapon but i prefer reflex recurve bow
TIP: is good to smoke weed during reading books

Speaking of jumper cables, how do I even USE one? (I know to "a"ctivate it, but not much else.)

Wow is this true? (The filling up water thing)
That has to be the stupidest feature I’ve ever heard of. What exactly is the point of this except mind-numbing tedium? Increase the time it takes to fill the barrel, don’t force the player to manually fill the container 300 times.
Seriously what is the point of this?

to make game harder
you cant have instant water suply for years now
with new advenced inventory feature now is better to make field of funnels with galon jugs and fill barrels with these jugs
That’s a dumb feature, and it doesn’t even make the game harder, it makes it more tedious. You can still get lots of water in a container from a single source, it’s just going to take longer.
It also doesn’t make any sense.
Guess I won’t be downloading any new experimental’s until this “feature” gets fixed. Water collection is so important in this game this little “feature” is almost game-breaking. (So this means I have to fill 15 times at a toilet with gallon jug? Epitome of tedium)
Would have been much better to just make it take a lot longer (and interruptible, but I think it is already interruptible), instead of refilling it one at a time on command. Best of both worlds then…

This is jaw-droppingly stupid and will prevent me from downloading future versions of the game. Making the filling of a container take a realistic amount of time is one thing, making it take dozens or hundreds of keystrokes just because is another entirely.
