What is the option to revert to old style display ? I mean the details on the right side of the screen, i got used tho those and it seems i can’t easily accommodate the new stile
Under the Options menu, the Interface tab, option 11: Sidebar style.
In the “Build Door” entry. If you select an empty square the first step will be to build an empty door frame.
Purge them with holy fire!
Fungal terrain is highly flammable, youll lose your shelter, and you may die in a blazing inferno, but its probably the only way.

Oh shit!
… Umm well… They;re all dead, likely including you from smoke!
You’ve obviously never been close up to a turret before, can and will kill you in one turn up close with perfect headshots 100% of the time if you have anything less than complete coverage of fairly good armor.
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU MAKE A KNIFE? It says to make something with a cutting quality of 1 I need an item with a cutting quality of 1…
How the fuck do I get a knife without a knife or finding one? My best chat just died, with the possibility of almost 8 bionics, due to starvation and death from a mansion raid in desperation for a knife.
A makeshift knife shouldn’t require a cutting tool, and will allow you to craft things. Recipe here: http://cdda.estilofusion.com/makeshift_knife/craft
The problem is the materials… Windows? Long string, sinew? Butcher animals with a cutting tool, ETC.
it’s “DLL hell” all over again,-}

Smash a window, deconstruct the sheets into rags. Grab a rock from outside. Smash a locker and make a spike. Make the makeshift knife.
to deconstruct the sheet you need a knife…
All I do is take a long string deconstruct it to smaller strings… bash a locker and get a rock. Make a Spike then you should be able to make the makeshift knife
Making a knife is easy, it just takes jumping through some counterintuitive hoops.
[ul][li]Walk outside and get a rock. Wield it.[/li]
[li]Walk back inside and (s)mash a locker or two into bits.[/li]
[li]When you have enough metal, craft a Spike from the crafting menu.[/li]
[li]Break the nearest window and pick up the Long String.[/li]
[li]Open your inventory, select the Long String, and (D)issassemble it into Short String.[/li]
[li]Open the crafting menu and make a makeshift knife.[/li][/ul]
Yes, all games in Cataclysmdda now start with using a rock to somehow turn a steel locker into a perfectly good knife. They typically progress by bending nails until you learn how to make a 100% functional sewing needle out of wood, which you will make out of your knife that you made out of a steel locker. Verisimilitude is not a high point of day 1 Cataclysm play.
I suggest cheat-menuing yourself a pocket knife and a sewing kit and forgoing the crafting and grinding, if you’re interested in an in-character playthrough.
Or play a profession that starts with some sort of knife.
FWIW in the nighty build now grinding won’t be as effective as it used to be. So yeah, you actually have to scavenge more.
You make it seem like a long and drawn out process when its not. Usually bashing one locker does the trick

It’s not a long and drawn out process, it’s just counter-intuitive and unrealistic, which gives us people who starve to death because they didn’t have a knife that you can make in the first minute of gameplay.
