That being said about this discussion, my Nippon weeb weapon of 1000 folded steel of glorious pig iron has a corresponding martial art, and it bothered me that European medieval weapons didn’t have their (obvious) corresponding art.

I do have a German-style longsword martial art in the Dropbox’d version of the medieval mod. Progress on bringing the last of the content over to the main game has stalled due to shields not being viable as-is.

Is it possible to just implement the use of the sword first, then the shield?

Possibly. I could bring over the martial arts, yeah. That would leave only the shields and the professions to bring over.
