The 9 barrel rifled flintlock volley gun! A Polish weapon of mass destruction! I already made this weapon in a mod for my own game, including a 9 barreled shotgun and rifle (non-flintlock) version, long ago before my laptop went to hell. But I guess I share it with the forum in good forum fun, now that I am back (kinda). Haha.
It is kinda strange that this thread has barely moved, since last time I was here.
Edit: I cant believe I missed all those replies, an error prevented me from seeing them. Oh well better now than never, I guess.

Sure, here it is. The youku video of the 4 section blade, in action video.
Pretty much what I expected it to be, and to be honest, I’m not overly impressed.
Sure, the twirling and the spinning looks nice, but is hardly a sound idea when you’re up against a single opponent.
I don’t get it. Please point out where it was written that someone was trying to impress you with anything? When that was clearly Never the Case. I even withheld the links, and furthermore, I advised people Against opening any links to unknown sites or sites they don’t know about (which leads to drama when things go bad). However if they still wanted to see, they’d have to do it at their own risk. By your own words (see your own words quoted below) – You, yourself explicitly asked me for the links, because you “have no patience trying to IME stuff in Chinese hoping to find it”, but was still curious “to see them” vids. I thought sure, why not? I gave the links only after you requested them, that was all. There was nothing about trying to impress anyone. I couldn’t care less if anyone was impressed or not. I only gave you the links because you Asked for them, yourself. I was never pushing the links to anyone, I even advised against opening them. Moreover, I never posted any (irregular)links at all, before you asked me to post them.
This is what you wrote, in an earlier post of yours.
Why do you even ask for the links if you are gonna act negative like that (as can be seen throughout your entire post)? And, why turn it into a weird pissing contest that never was? I didn’t know you had such preconceived notions. But, if I knew was gonna be this way, I’d spare my friends the trouble to find the links again. You know the drill - If you don’t like, then leave it. On the other hand, others seemed to appreciate and like the fact that it was real.
Like I wrote earlier, I was not even the first person to bring up the blade chucks. Someone asked “why no blade chucks”, in a reply to an earlier rolled-back post (to keep the happy and positive forum momentum going). But it got rolled back and erased as well (forum glitch). My friends showed me it was a real weapon, so I thought I’d share that fact. Imagine that, it is actually a Real Existing Weapon! And it even has techniques that come with it. Worse, writing the word weeabo (in your earlier post) is hypocritically ironic when you have a Japanese nickname. Above all, literally none of the weapons posted are of Japanese origin, to begin with.
Moreover, you do know the difference between demonstrating techniques and actual combat, right? That would be like claiming that soldiers walk and fight like they do on military demo parades, whilst goose-step marching? Nope. Sorry, but everyone with common sense, knows that is not the case.

From what I learned and was told, they tend to use these to forcefully intercept and swat away / knock away incoming attacks.
Not sure if that’ll work against someone with a weapon that is either much heavier and/or more longer (e.g. a langschwert/zweihänder).
Not sure where you’re going with all this… cuz it was never a pissing contest between European and Asian weapons and/or martial arts. What’s up with the strawman line: “Not sure if that’ll work against someone with a weapon that is either much heavier and/or more longer (e.g. a langschwert/zweihänder)."? Why are you trying to ignite a pissing contest? European weapons were never mentioned at all, so don’t take my sentence out of context. Originally you asked how to “parry” an enemy with a “jian/dao" So, I asked my asian friends about it and wrote down what they told me, regarding parrying the jian/dao, and only that.
Here this is what you wrote, see no European vs Asian comparisons made, so why start one???
There was nothing in your earlier posts about going against someone with a “langschwert/zweihänder”. If there was I’d ignore it, because that would instantly destroy the positive atmosphere, turning it into a senseless pissing contest between European and Asian weapons that nobody wants to see. It would only piss people off, including the mods/admins. Nope, I’m not going fall for a pointless “this is better than that” comparison trap. I’ve never put forth such as senseless comparison with my asian palls, either. At any respectable HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) weapons combat forums, such threads often closed Fast, or are outright Banned instantly. There are just too many katana/asian weapon vs [insert your favorite weapon] pissing contests, that result in senseless flame wars.
Furthermore, you even omitted parts where I explicitly told you that there are “much larger” sectional weapons such as the “Pole Flail” which are “better suited for parrying” (but you suddenly changed a simple parrying scenario into a pissing contest/battle scenario). Moreover, I also mentioned “Re-combinable Modular versions” of Sectional weapons that can be turned into a Full Sized Spear. Besides omitting the aforementioned (which would have massive melee reach) you made yet another fundamental error. Somehow you miss the fact that he was actively hurling throwing-blades and projectile weapons, including his bladed chucks. I even mentioned the throwing part, clearly and explicitly… He even hits the bullseye with his blade chucks in a long unedited video footage in a single attempt (as well as other thrown weapons in his other videos). Above all, he has tons of them to throw at one enemy…
One single enemy wielding a “much heavier” and/or “more longer” melee-only weapon, would only result in him becoming swiss cheese (full of holes), by making him a easier to hit. Especially he is facing a barrage of thrown projectile weapons. A Heavier and/or longer melee-only weapon makes you less maneuverable, tire faster, bog you down and still won’t provide the melee-range/melee-reach advantage, when faced with a Mobile Ranged Combatant armed with much lighter and compact throwing weapons. Armor or shields would help much more, but you never mentioned any of them. That kind of miscalculation would be detrimental to survival and gets you killed.

can also act like a whip, and wrap around enemy hands, disarming them
Again, reach, and if you’re opponent is smart enough, he’ll have a crossguard/basket hilt protecting him.
Again Swiss cheese (see above). Ranged combatants > Unarmored Melee only combatants without any shield. An enemy would die before getting within range. Furthermore, a “crossguard/basket hilt” does not protect the rest of the arm (or even parts of wrist, depending on the design), let alone rest of the body. So it is still irrelevant as he’d still end up full of holes.

A practitioner Dual Wielding the JianBian (Sword Whips)
Nice as show/entertainment, much less so for an actual fight. Again, a langschwert would give him a good run for his money.
You seem to have left out the most important factor of all, a warrior to actually wield that long sword. A “langschwert” (Long Sword) without a wielder cannot do anything… I am not making any pointless comparisons. Again, it is the warrior’s skills that counts most, not the melee weapon. And again, technique demonstrations are not the same as actual combat.
Langschwert fighting in case you’re interested. Not nearly as flashy, but it does show how quickly a fight can end.
Showcasing techniques and actual fight.
(And yes, grabbing a sharp blade with your hand works.)
I really like HEMA weapons combat. I know about half-sword techniques used against armored opponents and I know about that video (they have a never HD version), I’ve seen the HEMA Swordfish Competition video, before, as well. I just don’t like pointless comparison contests.
