# What music do you listen to while playing Cataclysm?

First vehicle I ever found was a bike. The Pokemon Red & Blue bike music immediately started playing through my head.

I put together a WinAmp playlist after reading about LazyCat’s MGS mod.

Mostly stuff by the Precursors (Star Control 2 remix team–free & legal!: [http://www.medievalfuture.com/precursors/music.php](http://www.medievalfuture.com/precursors/music.php) ), the MGS1 soundtrack, some Enya & Clannad, C&C soundtrack, and finally a few songs from UT99/UT2k4.

Last night’s campaign against the Triffid Grove featured the Supox remix Shake Your Rootz, Blast Furnace, Clannad’s The Poison Glen, Tension from RA2, and the Encounter music for that time when I carved up a Graboid. Freak MA instructor teaching Centipede Style FTW.

Aha, that’s one tick on the “fellow miracle of sound fan” checklist. Which makes… about one. They’re hard to find off the Escapist.

Anyway, I usually listen to the [STALKER soundtrack,](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoYeqEMLupE&feature=player_embedded) which I think suits Cataclysm quite well. It’s ambient and perfectly depressing.

I mostly listen to stoner and doom bands such as Elder, Om and Electric Wizard.  
Really fits driving down a road at sunset in a battered up vehicle with burning buildings and piles of corpses everywhere.  
Blue Oyster Cult also goes down that road.

If i find alot of drugs and military stuff i put on Rings of Saturn, because nothing fits slaying aliens with hitech weapons while pumped up on psychadelics than virtous scala wankery over really awesome 8 string riffs.

On the other hand, if i find an SKS, i put on my Red Army Choir playlist(wich starts with V Put) and march around liberating the world from its capitalist atrocities!

there is only one MOS song that i really don’t like it its from listening to it to much little sister just cant stand it anymore

I hear zombies as the various Specimens from ‘Killing Floor’ and also hear the KF music in my head pretty much all the time. This one especially when facing off with a Hulk. ‘Smoke Two Joints’ by the Toyes runs through my head every time I find marijuana in someones house.

I heard a lot of ‘Bad to the Bone’ when I found my first motorcycle, and ‘Take it Easy’ by the Eagles when I was travelling around in my flatbed truck.

Really, there’s always some sort of music running through my head, this game just seems to focus them towards certain things.

Whenever things get dire Tool somehow forces its way into my head. Running from those zombie dogs and knowing i cant fight them in melee and i cant run from them… this fits really well somehow.
