# Upgrading nightly builds

SoI started my game a few weeks on a nightly build. Now when I take the current experimental build and transfer over the save I’m getting a lot of debug events when loading. Are such upgrades safe or am I stuck on the old version?

Don’t you think it would be helpful to tell us what those “debug events” say?

Using your method (extracting new version into a separate folder, copying/moving the save folder there) is usually safe (except for unintended bugs, but that's why it's experimental).

I just tried it again copying all new folders and I’m getting no debug statements now. So I’ll just go with the ‘generally safe’ statement I think, thanks

OK, some visible encumbrance changes etc, but I can’t drink from vehicles any more. Back to the old version then…
