# Transferring items between levels

Is there any way to move items between z-levels other than on yourself?

Put everything into a pile on the ground and then haul that pile over to the stairs and then go up or down, whichever applies.
Default key for hauling items is the " \ " key, backslash.
I don’t think it works with z-level traversal via climbing or ropes as I’ve never tried but it’s unlikely it does.
