If I copy some of the JSON files for my mod, to whom should I give credit?, and what attribution format should I use?

We mostly rely on git history for proper attribution, if you copy part of another mod, the modinfo file has the attribution information, otherwise it’s in git’s history. If your mod is going to be contributed to mainline I wouldn’t worry about it, everything gets jumbled up by design.
