I’ve discovered that walls and the sides of vehicles only block enemies from entering as long as they are 100% straight. If you park at an angle enemies can come through. (Solution: Double thickness walls?)

I can’t see any obvious gaps in your picture though…

Yeah, turns out that animal spawns can be wonky and will spawn ANYWHERE that’s outside of your view. Even if it’s a completely sealed truck cabin.  
On a slightly related note, I found a farm. It had animals in the bathroom of the house. There WAS a cow in there, but it got out when I first opened the door.
