Was this supposed to be fixed in version 2004? Day 3 of Spring (on 30-day seasons) and I have had three days in a row where the lows during night have been -6C each time, and the highs have never gone above 10C.
It’s been tough, but not unbeatable… And at least we are not dropping to < -20C on the first night, which is a great improvement!
It is no longer a game-breaking issue though, so I don’t mind if this is ‘good enough’.
Yeah, that was the intention. I did my best to keep winters challenging, but that means the first days of spring have to be a bit cold.
What I did in the update, though, is change the ratio of cold days in the year, so winters should be cold for less time. That also means summers will be hot for more time. It’s a tradeoff, but I think coupled with the general reduction of extreme weathers it should be fine.
Now, on your case, you have 30 day seasons. That means it will take twice as long for you to go through the year, which means you take twice as long to leave the cold days at th beginning of spring. Still, as I’ve said before, -6C is not enough to straight up kill you with frosting. It might be wise to stay awake some nights, though, since the way the cold kills you in cdda is through reducing your body temperature while sleeping. Dramatically. If you can manage to stay awake, you will not suffer so much from the cold.
Interestingly, that means it can be a valid strategy to sleep during the day, since it’s warmer. Let me know how it works out for you, though. I’m watching. =3
