# So, I'm building a Garage

I’d like to use Palisade Walls and Gates, along with a pulley system, but it says I can’t build them. I have the skill, and the items, and am trying to build on dirt. Can someone tell me why it isn’t working?

Are you digging shallow pits where you need to put them? You have to dig the logs/wood into the ground so they stay up. I remember that being a requirement.

Thank you. I had tried that once, but it turns out you need the normal pits, not the shallow ones.
