# Question regarding improvised shelter and firepit

Just wondering if someone with experience using the improvised shelter could help me. my question relates to the placement of a fire pit in relation to the location of the shelter its self.

The description for the shelter says that it can protect a fire from the rain, but do I need to place the shelter over the rain, then make a second shelter for myself, or does the shelter protect a firepit if it is placed anywhere in the surrounding 8 squares?

Love the idea of it, but it’s a bit confusing.

Apparently it only really works with a brazier. Placing the brazier over the improvised shelter will protect the fire from the rain.

I’ve never tried this myself, but several people have said it works fine.
