# NPCs magically track you in the dark through walls

Windows 8.1
NPCs magically know where you are. Friendly NPCs can find you even if you change z-levels and pop up somewhere else. Hostile NPCs can follow you even in perfect darkness even if you follow a convoluted path, close doors, etc. It could be nice for this to work closer to the way dogs follow you in the dark.
This is one of my biggest pain points trying to deal with NPCs personally.

With friendly NPCs it makes sense that you’d maintain communication - otherwise they’d be a pain to deal with.
With hostile ones not so much. Will check if it’s easy to fix.
