Anyone have a suggestion?
In general, triffids–the fungal fighter is a specialized anti-Mycus variant thereof–are more or less a walking flower, kinda like “a tulip with stubby leg-knobs”* in configuration, so the flingers might be longer and the body less bulky in proportion. Might also make it all a more/less uniform color, rather than the abrupt green on the flinger-branches. That make me think they look tacked-on rather than part of the plant. :-/
That said, you’ve done pretty well with that description. Thanks for your time and effort.
*Some other details in the book, like tendrils and some sticks they rattled for communication. Not immediately necessary here.
Second attempt at a Fungal Fighter. I’ve included my original attempt and the existing Triffids from the tileset for comparison. The new fungal fighter is third from the left.

This one is more like the other flowers and less like a mole with antlers.
The petals are folded back to accommodate pushing through the ground. A tangle of woody roots do that pushing. Still present are flexible green branches for flicking thorns.
