I have to agree, the vanity additions/general rubbish additions has gotten too much. John (and I, as well as others) aren’t specifically targeting a group or an item. I couldn’t care less about the individual things (furry ears, dino suits or whatever), but it’s the general unprofessional attitude that it gives off.
This annoys me because it’s a game we all love, and we don’t want it to be treated as a joke. DCSS got loads better after they adopted the ‘serious’ approach, and the player base respected that a lot in my opinion.
Although I’m very grateful to the devs for putting their time into it, as soon as they launched the kickstarter this was taking it out of a ‘hobby project just for kicks’ and making it a more serious one.
